Beyond Tough is a free online panel discussion hosted by Mindarma during Men’s Health Week, exploring practical strategies to support men’s mental health. The event will be held on Wednesday 11 June 2025 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm ACST. It is supported by the Government of South Australia’s Office for Small and Family Business through the South Australian Small Business Strategy 2023–2030.

The panel will examine the difference between toughness and resilience, why common coping strategies often fail, and how to build better wellbeing outcomes for men. The session is designed to share practical, evidence-based techniques that can be applied in workplaces, communities, and everyday life.

Expert speakers include Professor Tony Walker ASM, Adjunct Professor of Paramedicine at Monash University; Senior Sergeant Todd Best, Senior Operational Support Officer with Queensland Police Service and R U OK Day Ambassador; and Dr Andrew Arena, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Black Dog Institute. The session will be moderated by Dr Sadhbh Joyce, Senior Psychologist and Co-Founder of Mindarma.

Beyond Tough provides an important opportunity for business owners, managers, employees, and community members to strengthen their understanding of resilience, mental health, and practical support strategies.
